Max Mara is an Italian luxury fashion house founded in 1951 by Achille Maramotti in Reggio Emilia, where it is still based. It is best known for its coats, above all the 101801, a camel coat in wool and cashmere designed by Anne-Marie Beretta in 1981, and the Teddy Bear coat, first shown in 2013.
Alongside outerwear, the main line covers tailoring, knitwear, dresses and accessories. The Max Mara name also appears on related lines, including Max Mara Studio, Weekend Max Mara and Sportmax.
